I'm a software developer based in Napier, New Zealand. I came into tech sideways — I'm a qualified animal welfare investigator who once wanted to be a canine behaviourist, and ended up a developer instead. No regrets.
I hold a Level 6 Diploma in Web Development & Design plus a stack of NZQF digital technology credentials, and I'm currently working through CompTIA Network+, Security+ and Azure. I lean toward backend work, security, networking and AI, and I do a lot of my own research — transformer papers, vector databases, Docker (genuine soft spot), auth, cloud, NZ privacy law.
I explain technical things clearly to people who aren't technical, I pick up new tools quickly, and I care about doing the job properly rather than just done. Outside of work I stream on Twitch, build Minecraft systems, chip away at a Godot game, and dote on animals.
Right now I'm looking for work — remote or here in Hawke's Bay — and connections across the New Zealand tech industry — say hello.
